Above are some samples of websites using CSS, HTML/XHTML, PHP, and Java Script for design and layout. I use WordPress as a CMS and work in a MAMP setting. The website are designed to adhere either to standards for Strict 1.0 XHTML and CSS level 2.1 or Transitional 1.0 XHTML and CSS level 3. The websites have been tested for cross-browser compatibility.
Elderhostel—Now Road Scholar

www.roadscholar.org
I worked with Elderhostel, now Road Scholar, to implement a site redesign moving the site from HTML tables to CSS. I also helped to add more use interactivity to their site redesigning their search pages to have more customizable options for users using UI user scenarios. Additionally, making the sidebar banners CSS as opposed to GIFs and working with the IT department and Marketing department to customize the banners to be more user specific, ie. corresponding banners appearing based on customer searches.

Hostelling International (left is a screen shot of the old site)

In the capacity of Marketing and Communications Coordinator, I worked
with the company to develop a plan for the redesign of the website and
the future management of different sections of the website. The site on
the right is the result. The community section includes a calendar that
allows easy updating with no programming knowlege. I also
consulted on the name of the company, a regional council functioning
under the umbrella of a national organization, and worked to raise brand
recognition through such social networking tools as facebook.
Email Design
Below are several examples of emails designed to send to targeted audiences. Emails are scanned for spam compatibility and designed using industry best practices. Working together with a marketing team, design changes were tracked to quantify consumer response. Email marketing was tested across platforms and through major email hosts to ensure design was maintained.
